How a case is structured, and realistic timelines
Most implant and prosthetic cases are done across two trips. On the first, we carry out the examination, take a cone-beam CT scan on site, agree the plan and price in writing, and perform the surgery: extractions, implant placement and any bone grafting, with a temporary solution so you do not travel home without teeth.
The healing interval follows, typically around three to six months depending on the site, the bone and whether grafting was needed. On the second trip we take the definitive impressions or a digital scan, the laboratory produces the restoration, and you leave with the final work fitted and checked.
A surgical first trip usually needs three to five days on the ground: consultation and CBCT, surgery, and a review before you fly. The second trip commonly needs five to eight working days, because a definitive restoration involves a try-in stage and laboratory time between appointments.
Simpler work compresses considerably. A single crown, a few composite restorations or a hygiene visit with a check-up can be done within a short stay. What cannot be compressed is biological healing; anyone offering finished implant restorations within a week of surgery is making a promise that bone does not keep.
Between the trips
You go home with a temporary restoration, written aftercare instructions and a named point of contact. We ask for a photograph at the intervals set out in your plan, and we answer questions by email between visits.
If something loosens or breaks at home, most temporary problems can be handled by a local dentist in a short appointment; we will send them your records on request. Small interim costs of that kind are part of travelling for treatment and are worth budgeting for.
What documentation you receive
You leave with a complete set of records: the CBCT data, radiographs, clinical photographs, the treatment report describing what was done at each stage, and the invoices.
For implants you also receive the implant passport recording the system, the implant diameter, its length and the lot number. This matters more than patients expect. Years later, any dentist anywhere can order the correct prosthetic components for your implants only if that information exists in writing.
Aftercare once you are home
Routine maintenance belongs at home: hygiene visits, checks of the restoration and monitoring of the gums around implants. Your own dentist can do all of this with the records we provide, and we encourage you to arrange it.
We remain available by email for questions and for the review intervals in your plan. If a problem needs hands-on treatment, it needs a dentist in the same room as you, which is why a working relationship with a local practice is part of a sensible plan rather than a fallback.
When travelling is not the right choice
Not every case suits treatment abroad, and we say so. Extensive surgical rehabilitation with grafting is better staged across more than two trips, and squeezing it into one is how complications are made. Cases with unstable general health, uncontrolled periodontal disease or heavy smoking need conditions addressed before implants are placed anywhere.
Complications are the honest argument against travel. They are uncommon, but when they occur they need access to care, and access is harder from two thousand kilometres away. If we think your case would be better treated near your home, we will tell you that during the online consultation rather than after you have booked a flight.

Only for limited work such as a single crown or restorations. Implants need healing time between placement and the definitive restoration, usually three to six months. Anyone promising finished implant work within days is working against biology, and it is the restoration that pays for it later.
Straumann and Neodent, and nothing else. Both are internationally distributed, which means prosthetic components remain available to your dentist at home for years. A Straumann implant is 950 € and Neodent 650 €; a zirconia crown on the implant is 450 € on Straumann and 390 € on Neodent.
Contact us first: many issues are resolved by advice, and a loose temporary is a short appointment with a local dentist. We send your records to them on request. If revision work is needed with us, we agree the terms and any costs in writing before you travel back.

Late spring and early autumn are practical: flight connections are good and the city is less crowded than in July and August. Winter travel is possible but flights are fewer, so allow more flexibility around your appointment dates and avoid booking the tightest possible schedule.
